Veterinairy Diets Now In Stock!

We are pleased to announce that we are now stocking Trovet veterinairy prescription diets for cats and dogs. We have a range of wet and dry foods covering liver, kidney and urinary problems as well as special hypo-allergenic diets for food intolerance/sensitivity. So if you are currently using a Vet prescribed food, pop in and have a chat with us, we could have a great alternative for you!

Still required is a loving home for 'Spud', a 20 month old Mastiff x Border Collie. Unfortunately, due to health reasons Spud's owners now need to re-home him. For more information please call Jackie on 07972-879 141.

Thank-you

On 1st June 2007 we opened the doors to our Pet Education Centre. It was a natural progression from the dog training and pet behaviour services Sarah has been providing since February 2006 when we moved to Weymouth from Bedfordshire. For years we had been shopping at the normal pet shops/pet warehouses you can find in most towns around the country - and for years we were continually surprised at the apparent lack of knowledge/interest present in many of these stores. Yes, we got fed up with it! What's more, we decided to do something about it! That's the seed that launched The Pet Experience - Pet Education Centre.

Pet products and accessories, particularly food/nutrition can be a minefield. Many people think that pet food is pet food...it's all the same. Unfortuantely this is not the case. The differences between the various choices available is enormous. The impact of giving your pet the wrong type of food can be very serious. Allergic reactions and food intolerances are common. Determining an intolerance is the first step, managing the intolerance is next - but with the right diet this need not be a problem. People often accept a poor, lack lustre coat as 'part of their pet growing old'. The development of eczema or poor dental condition is often dealt with as a sympton instead of effectively dealing with the cause of the problem. We are here to help people make the right decision when it comes to nutrition (or any other pet related matter). A decision based on facts and not on flashy television advertising! We can talk you through ingredients, explaining the pros and cons of each. After all, what's good for one pet may not necessarily be good for yours. And if you like, bring your pet down....we'd love to meet them!

It's not just dogs and cats that we cater for though, we love our small furries too! Come down and meet our resident rabbits and take part in one of our Bunny Basic's sessions where you can learn all you need to know about owning and caring for rabbits. It's free, interactive and you might be surprised at what you may learn!

If it's training or behaviour work that you need then either read on or pop into the Centre to find out how we can help.

Pets, don't you just love them!! We've all had them over the years, sometimes that special one, sometimes a house full! And I bet you can remember one or two who just wouldn't play by the rules. Whether it was jumping all over your friends when they came to visit or scratching your beautiful brand new sofa, or even just misbehaving when you were out on a walk.

confused dogMaybe this is all too familiar and not just a memory.

Having worked with all types and dispositions of animals since leaving college in 1994 I have developed a real passion for their welfare and a sound understanding of their nature and requirements.

grumpy catI started off as kennel hand for the National Animal Welfare trust in Watford and after a few busy years I moved onto The National Canine Defence League (now known as The Dog's Trust). Since leaving the NCDL I seem to have created my own mini 'rescue centre', taking in many different pets regardless of their bizarre disabilities and behavioural issues.

As well as my qualifications in this area, my vast experience has taught me that no pet is beyond help. So, whatever your problem, DON'T PANIC!! Whether it's basic training you need or ongoing behaviour counselling I can provide a dedicated service to fulfil the specific needs of you and your furry/feathered friend.
